A few practical things.

Do I need an API key?

Not for a signed-in Codex or Claude CLI connection. You can also use a local Ollama model. Your provider’s plan and usage limits apply.

What stays on my Mac?

Audio capture and transcription run locally. Transcript text and the document excerpts you enable are included in requests to your chosen AI provider.

Does Flowtop join the call as a bot?

No. Flowtop works in a desktop window and can use your system audio. You do not need to invite another participant.

Which Macs are supported?
